Kyshawn Gets A Dog

Kyshawn has been asking for a dog since he was eight years old. Finally, on his birthday in 2006, his dream came true. In his words, he says," My dad and I went up to Spartanburg and got me a black bull dog but I had to turn him over to my dad because my mom didn't like him around." So almost everyday after school, he says, he goes over to his dad's house to take care of his dog. I think his dog is going to be a great long time gift.

Haley Kuykendall Saves Six Puppies

Only four days before the 2007-08 school year started, Haley Kuykendall and her mom saved six puppies lying in a ditch near their house. When we interviewed her Haley had this to say:

"We were driving down the road near our house. At the top of a hill, she spotted the puppies laying in a ditch. The dogs were small, the mother only a year old. The dogs belonged to a man in the neighborhood.Haley felt bad for the little pups. She wanted to ensure them safety from snakes, and other local predators. The family took care of the lab and hound dog mixed babies for three weeks before returning them. The dogs' lives were saved by this act of kindness.

Dalton Parker selected as Invention Convention Finalist

An invention Convention finalist Dalton Parker made a toilet paper despenser. When Dalton was making the toilet paper despensor he had to use a piece of pipe to keep the toilet paper in the despenser. Then, he cut another piece of pipe and a hole in the invention. Dalton plans on installing an updated version if his invention in his own house because his despensor holds five rolls of toilet paper at once.

Kayla gets in a fuss with BEST FRIEND

One snow day Kayla and Her Friend were playing snowball fight with each other when the girls began to argue. Kayla's best friend hit her with a snowball, so Kayla threw a big snowball back at her and hit her in the head. Then Kayla's best friend got mad at her and left. Her best friend called her, but they got into a fight on the phone. Kayla didn't call or to even e-mail her for about a week. Finally, Kayla's best friend called her to apologize. Now Kayla and her best friend are getting along. Kayla says from now on, "I will say I'm sorry when I do something wrong."

The egyptians were so kind to let us cross the border. Generosity must be a major quality seeing as they didn't even get mad as we crossed the over the gate to get supplies. Anyone else would be mad if I blew up the wall and stormed in. They trust us not to bring the war with us.

I Dream...

Of nothing more than some-guy chasing me
I do nothing but run I don’t go to the police
I think about going to the police but I’m too scared
He will find me when he gets out of jail.
He keeps saying that he is my farther
I yell back “MY FATHER”
Do I believe him or go to the police?
“YES, YOUR FATHER PLEASE STOP RUNNING AND LISENTEN TO ME” Those are the words he said to me “HOW DO I KNOW THAT YOU AREN’T LYING TO ME I HAVEN’T EVER SEEN MY FATHER BEFORE IN MY LIFE” I Yelled back to him.
Why don’t I just go to the police? That is the question that I keep on asking myself.
Something in my heart told me not to go to the police that he was really my father.

When I'm alone I...

Think about how my life will turn up as when I grow up.
Like how many kids will I have to come home to or will I not have any.
Will I ever get married or not will I ever find the right man or not.
Will I get the job of my dreams or will I end up like my dad no job no life to look up too nothing more than a lowlife person.
How will my life turn out when I grow up?
That is the only question I ever ask myself when I am alone I…
