Ms. Hance at Tanglewood Middle!
Recently I interviewed another intelligent worker at Tanglewood Middle. The librarian who is also the teacher of the year, Ms. Hance gives me and my Journalism classmates an overview of her life as a librarian at Tanglewood Middle. She is a graduate from the University of Finley. She also took classes at Jacksonville and at Furman University. Ms. Hance has her degree in Elementary Education and Library Science. Hance hopes in the future she can go to school and get her masters degree. She only became a librarian because a women at her school while in college gave her a job in a library. She has been a librarian for 16 years (science 1986) and she was a Media Specialist in Georgia in 1993. She has been here for 4 years. She told me that the biggest lesson she has learned was when her mother passed away and she didn't speak up and give her opion and she says she learned to be more open. She says she doesn't have a lot of family. The closest thing she has to a big family is TANGLEWOOD MIDDLE!! She says she has 601 children: the students at Tanglewood and her pet dog Shelby. She says she is real close to a lot of students here and she is very grateful. She say the biggest complaint about her job is she doesn't have enough time with the students who enter the library. "I would love to be able to help students more and work with them more."
