The life of a teenage girl

Hey, my name is Vanessa and I go to school at Liberty High School and make just about straight A’s. When my mom and dad spilt up I didn’t know what to do anymore. I was the reason they spilt up. My sister and brother tell me over and over hat they hate me because of what I did to the family. I blame myself. My mom tells me that the fault was my dad and hers but it wasn’t.
“No mom, stop blaming yourself. It’s not dad’s nor your fault that you guys spilt up. It’s mine.” I say. “Why do you always got to say things like that?” she asks.
“What kind of things do I say.”
“Who told you that it was your fault and why do you blame yourself for the stupid mistake that we made?”
And I can’t, won’t lie to my mom. It was my sister and brother. She tells me, “don’t listen to them” but I do not know what to say, so she comes up and says, “I don’t always have to be the tuff girl in the family.” Then I ask, “What else I do then. No response so yeah I do have to be the tuff girl in the family doesn’t I?” It took her a long time to answer me but then out of nowhere she came up and said “No you don’t I need to learn how to be the tuff one where when you or your brother or sister get in trouble then I could help get you out of it.”
I do not know how to tell you this mom. I have been talking to dad here lately. He told me to tell you “He misses you and will always miss you." Then I told him I would try to bring it up to you but I do not know how to then he told me start talking to you about school so then I told him that you would know that something was up because I never talk to you about school.
So, here goes nothing I keep on telling my gut ‘You would understand that I’m just a little girl and that you would not hate me forever you would gain my trust back sooner or latter no matter what happens because I’m your daughter.” Being someone’s daughter is like telling someone that you would never give up on them or what they say because you are what you make yourself out to be not who you try to be. Well that is what she always said.
So one day she picks me up from school and then she asked “how was school” I said “ok why how was your day at work.” Well “I got a phone call” I had to ask “from who” she answered, “your dad” so “what did he want?” She said that “He wanted to see me and asked do you want to see him or not?” I answered with a sight “sure I guess that I will go see him only if he don’t ask me any question about you and how our life’s are because I’m not going to answer him about that because that is not his business it is our business.”
“So, when do I go this weekend I’m busy sorry can’t go.” She asked me “what I was doing this weekend that was more important then going over to my dads” I said. “Going out with my friends.”
She said, “How do you get that they are more important then my dad.” I said because “He left us and plus he don’t care about us any ways we are going out to eat then to the movies so can I have about twenty dollars or just some money to go out this weekend with them?” She told me, “NO”I said “Why?” She told me “I had to go to my dads instead of going out with my friends.” “Mama I don’t want to go with some one that doesn’t care about me or you nor my brother or sister even though they don’t care about me.” So, “Mama what are we really doing this weekend?” Answer “Well you are going to your dads.” “why he only wants to see me and not my sister or brother?”
She had to answer me with the four words I hate that she always has to say “Because I Said So.”
Now, it is the next day at school and my friends are asking me “can I go out with them this weekend.”
“I hate telling them no.” When they ask me why I told them because my mom is making me go over to my dads house.
“Yes the guy that walked out on the four of us.” I asked her “why she was making me go to a guys house that don’t even care about us and she said Because I Said So”
“I hate when she says that don’t you hate when your mom always says that to you?”
Well, “Girls the late bell is about to ring so we better get to our favorite class Social Studies not if I’m late for that class again I’m on my way to ISS no excuses because that would be my fifth time this week being late for that class.”
“If my mom finds out I’m in a lot of trouble with her and my dad even thought he don’t care about me any more.”
Well, “See you latter when classes Change to seconded period and all my friends standing at our lockers all five of our lockers are all in a straight line.”
Now it is the end of the day, I’m talking to my friends at my locker waiting on my mom to come pick me up at school now she just got here.
So, “Girls I have to go and talk my mom into letting me go out with you instead of going to my dads.”
Well, “I really can’t tell you girls anything else because my mom is making me go and I can’t do a single thing about it because when my mom says Because I Said So.”
“Plus my mom told me that he had a surprise for me and she knows what it is but she promised my dad that she would not tell me what it was.”
“Mama when do you keep promises with dad about anything so tell me my surprise.”
So, “I can act surprised about it and if I don’t want it I don’t have to go do I?”
Well, mama what is it?” Answer “it is a puppy your doggie had puppies”
“Okay mama I guess I will go just to get the puppy and stay one night and then will you come pick me up form dads please mama.”
She said “Okay that we could do that”
Now, “that is over can I have twenty dollars to go out with my friends I will go back to dads next weekend only if I like his new girlfriend.”
Mama didn’t know about his new girlfriend “I thought that he told her” I guess she just found out because she just asked me
“What new girlfriend are you talking about?”
He has been living with her for two mouths.
Now, “he told you that he isn’t seeing anybody or what did he tell you?” Answer “He told me that he was not seeing anybody.”
Well, “He told you a lie and he will keep on until you tell him that I told you the truth.”
You know that he is nothing much then a liar
Mama, “How did you feel when you found out that he lied to you about him cheating on you.”
She said “She don’t remember how she felt when she found that out.
“I still blame myself.” She doesn’t even know it because if I tell her then she will tell me “Not to start to blame myself for that same old mistake that every family will have to face once in there lives on matter if they aren’t the fighting type.”
“If you have a good family then you have to fight sometime instead to betting around the bush about things that are going on in your lives.” “Never tell your mom or dad that you hate them even if they do something so bad that it makes you want to kill yourself”
“It’s not even worth your life. Because I told my dad that I hated him for what he did to my mom and now he is trying to make me feel really bad. So that I will be sorry but it is not working right now. He hasn’t told me that he loves me, my mom, my brother and sister more than anyone or anything yet. When he does I’ll try to stay strong but I’m not sure how I’m going to react to it but I think that I’ll fall into his arms and cry and tell him that I love him, mom, my brother, and sister more then anyone or anything. They are my family. Families stick together and they don’t need to ever split up because they are made to stick together.” This is from a ninth grader, fourteen year old girl that goes to Liberty High School and needs to be with her family right now.
“Don’t ever think you are the blame for some stupid mistake that your mom or dad made always stick with your family and never let them go even if you need a break from them.
Now, “I’m going to stop writing this story because every story has a happy ending so go find your happy ending. I hope you find it soon I found mine in my family. So maybe you could start looking in your family to find your happy ending.”
